The Role of the Library Board of Trustees

  • Review the administration of Sausalito Library operations.
  • Make recommendations to the City Librarian.
  • Establish library policies.
  • Serve as liaison between the library and the community and between the library and the City Council.

Meetings

  • The five-member Library Board of Trustees meets once per month on the fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
  • All meetings of the Library Board of Trustees are open to the public.
  • Meeting times and agendas may be viewed on the meetings and agendas page for the Library Board of Trustees.

Membership

  • Members must be Sausalito residents.
  • Members are appointed by the City Council.
  • The City Council encourages residents to apply to serve on the Library Board of Trustees; if interested, please fill out an application form.
  • The term length is three years, with a maximum of two terms.
  • A member may continue to serve after her or his term expires, until a new member is appointed.
