What We Do in the Maintenance Division

The Maintenance Division's ongoing responsibilities include serving internal and external customers in the following areas:
  • Recreation and Parks: Safely maintain trees, other landscaping, structures and waste facilities with repairs and replacement as needed including responding to emergencies.
  • Streets and Rights-of-Way: Safely repair potholes and other street hazards, sidewalk obstructions, maintain street trees, parking lots and landscape strips, erect and maintain approved traffic control signage, coordinate performance of streetlight and traffic signal maintenance and repair by others and responding to emergencies.
  • Government Buildings: Safely perform custodial and routine maintenance for City Hall, MLK and other public buildings including responding to emergencies.
  • Trees: Safely perform or arrange for the performance of routine maintenance and repairs to public, and under certain circumstances private, trees to protect human health, property and the environment including responding to emergencies.
