Introduction

Sausalito has been experiencing the impacts of climate change and sea level rise for many years. Have you noticed the frequent flooding of Gate 5 Road and erosion at Swede’s Beach? In the near future, sea level rise is expected to have an even greater impact on our residential, ecological, commercial, infrastructure, and cultural assets. Like many shoreline communities, Sausalito has begun to appreciate the need to assess our vulnerabilities to sea level rise, identify adaptation options, and prioritize those options.
