Emergency preparedness is a year-round responsibility for residents of Southern Marin, with wildfire season in summer and fall, mudslides and flooding in the winter and spring, and the constant threat of a catastrophic earthquake.

To help residents get their act together in a relaxed environment, Southern Marin Fire and Sausalito Village are hosting Ready Sausalito, a free community-wide emergency preparedness fair at the MLK Park basketball courts from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9.

The event will feature informational booths, demonstrations and safety tips, a fire extinguisher exchange and refill station, basic first aid training, and a drop-off area for expired medications. There will also be raffle prizes and free hot dogs served by the Lions Club. All are welcome to attend.
