The first meeting of the interim board of the
Downtown Sausalito Property Business Improvement District (DSPBID) will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5 in the City Hall Council Chambers.
The meeting will be open to the public and subject to the
Brown Act. Time will be available for public comment either in person or via Zoom.
The DSPBID was established by the City Council on July 30 after a formal vote of the property owners in the district. The City of Sausalito owns multiple properties in the downtown area but did not participate in the vote.
The district will be funded via parcel tax assessments, which are expected to generate approximately $250,000 per year over the next five years to be used for special events, marketing and promotion, and beautification projects.
Items on the
meeting agenda for September 5 include:
- Establishment of the name for the nonprofit corporation that will manage the DSPBID.
- Selection of an interim board of directors by a steering committee consisting of the property owners (or their representatives) in attendance at the meeting.
- Selection of interim officers.
- Discussion of district bylaws.
- Discussion of funding priorities.
Any questions about the DSPBID can be directed to Community and Economic Development Director Brandon Phipps at (415) 289-4142 or bphipps@sausalito.gov.
