Lieutenant Brian Mather is this week's featured member of the
Sausalito Police Department.
Brian has had a stellar career since he came on board as an officer in 2008. In addition to being a three-time recipient of the department's employee of the year award, he was promoted to corporal in 2016, sergeant in 2022, and lieutenant in 2024.
Growing up in a U.S. Coast Guard family, Brian moved to a new town every three years, including stops in Connecticut, Alaska, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Montana, and Minnesota. He arrived in California for his junior year of high school and has been here ever since.
During his free time, Brian enjoys traveling with his wife and kids for sports and family vacations. International travel is next on his bucket list. Although he has visited all 50 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico, he has never been outside of North America.
Brian and the other 22 employees of the Sausalito Police are featured in the department's
Community Trading Card Challenge. Anyone who collects a trading card from each staff member and learns a
fun fact about them will receive a 10-ounce Yeti tumbler with the department logo.
