County Releases Updated City Council Election Results on November 8

Post Date:11/08/2024 3:30 PM
The Marin County Elections Department has released the first update to its results from the General Election on November 5.

With the ballots of 3,184 registered voters in Sausalito counted as of 11:08 a.m. on November 8, the contest for the three open seats on the City Council looks like this:
  • Ian Sobieski: 1,629 votes (22.82%)
  • Steven Woodside: 1,588 votes (22.24%)
  • Melissa Blaustein: 1,506 votes (21.09%)
  • Sandra Bushmaker: 1,253 votes (17.55%)
  • Jacqueline Amrikhas: 1,164 votes (16.30%)

In an unprocessed ballots status report issued on November 7, the Office of the California Secretary of State estimated that 57,940 ballots cast by registered voters in Marin County remained to be counted beyond the 85,083 ballots included in the election night results, an expected 83% turnout.

Sausalito had 5,576 registered voters for the 2024 General Election. If Sausalito's turnout number ends up approximating the 83% of the entire county, that means roughly 1,400 ballots remain uncounted as of November 8.

The next update from the Elections Department will be published by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, with further updates on November 15, 18, and 20. Additional dates will be added as necessary. The Elections Department has 30 days to certify the election.
