Fort Baker is located on waterfront property between Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge
Fort Baker was an army post from the early 1900s until the 1990s
In 1995, ownership was transferred to the National Park Service and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area
Fort Baker is considered a "Hot Topic" because Sausalito residents are active users of Fort Baker and because new development of the site has the potential to create adverse impacts for Sausalito like congestion from additional car, bus, and bicycle traffic
