MHA provides decent, safe and sanitary housing for low and moderate income people. MHA administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, the Supportive Housing Department, and the Below Market Rate Home Ownership program (BMR) and owns and manages housing units.

Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities
Sausalito provides individuals with disabilities reasonable accommodation in rules, practices and procedures to ensure equal access to housing, and to facilitate the development of housing for individuals with disabilities.

Resources for Seniors
- Age Friendly Sausalito Sausalito was the first city in Marin County to join the WHO Global Network of Age Friendly Cities and Communities.
- Call a Ride for Sausalito Seniors (CARSS)
CARSS volunteers drive their own vehicles to provide free rides around town for seniors. Rides are available between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as to select City-wide events on weekends and evenings.
- Edgewater Seniors
The Edgewater Seniors Club provides opportunities for Sausalito seniors to create friendships, gather at special events, and share experiences; members meet for a variety of trips, social gatherings, and presentations.
- Sausalito Village
Sausalito Village is a non-profit organization founded by volunteers who wanted to build a community of friendship and support among Sausalito's older residents.
Utilities Assistance Programs
Community Action Marin Energy Programs
Community Action Marin is the local administrator of the federally-funded Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). CAM also offers assistance referring residents to other income-eligible energy saving programs.
HEAP Assistance- Once-a-year assistance in paying gas, electric, wood, and propane home energy costs. Eligibility and assistance level based on household size, gross monthly income, and program priorities. (Program restrictions may change on an annual basis and according to funding availability.)
Referral to Residential Conservation Programs- Access to Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (weatherization), Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), Energy Partners and utility-operated conservation programs.

San Francisco Peninsula Energy Services
SF Peninsula Energy Services is a not-for-profit organization which promotes energy conservation through home improvement, weatherization services, utility payment assistance, consumer education and advocacy and job training to people in need. Their service territory includes Marin County. Program eligibility is based on income, household size, and program funding.
The SF Peninsula Energy Services Weatherization Services include energy efficiency-improving measures completed in the home to reduce energy costs. This program is available to homeowners as well as renters (owners of rental property are not charged when services are provided for their tenants). Weatherization services include:
- On-site home inspection to determine energy losses
- Installation of energy conservation and heat loss measures such as insulation, weather-stripping, caulking, sink aerators, showerheads, and compact fluorescent light bulbs
- Gas appliance safety and efficiency inspection with possible replacement of refrigerator, stove, furnace, water heater, and doors

MCE Home Energy Saving Program
MCE Clean Energy's Home Energy Savings program provides no-cost home energy upgrades, a home energy assessment, and a gift box with energy-saving products for income-qualified homeowners and renters.
Home energy upgrade measures include:
- Heat pumps
- Water heaters
- Attic insulation
- Gas furnaces
- Duct sealing
- Pipe insulation
Eligibility for measures is determined by home assessment.
