Encroachment Permit Application Forms
-
Effective on 3/16/2020, we only accept digital and online submittals. To submit an application, email completed application & all supplemental documents together to mlockett@sausalito.gov.
-
Please note that encroachment permits are not issued over the counter, and have a turn around time of about four weeks (with the exception of parking permits). Submittals are incomplete & cannot be reviewed until all above required items are received by the City, and all submittals are processed in the order in which they were received. Submitting all required documents as described below is the best strategy to expedite your review.
-
Required documents for all encroachment permit applications include:
- Completed Encroachment Permit Application, with full description in the middle section of all proposed work to occur in the public right of way
- Site plan showing the location of the proposed work
- Traffic control plan if working in the roadway
- Pedestrian detour plan if working in the sidewalk and cannot keep 4 feet open
- Certificate of insurance naming the City of Sausalito as an additional insured on the contractor/entity working in the public right of way's liability policy, and the description for the additional insured needs to include the following language: “The City of Sausalito, its agents, officers, officials, employees & volunteers are included as additional insureds per the attached endorsement.” Please see the following sample document
