On Monday, September 21, the City's
Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee will discuss a proposal to install a two-way bike path on the north side of
Nevada Street, creating a safe zone for children and adults to bike to and from Bridgeway and the campus of Willow Creek Academy.
The project would also involve removing on-street parking from the north side of Nevada Street and creating a buffer area between the bike path and the lanes of traffic. The narrowing of the roadway to create the buffer should help reduce speeds on Nevada Street.
If the proposal and any revisions receive majority support from the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee, its next stop would be the City Council for funding and approval. Grant funds are expected to be available for the project from the Transportation Authority of Marin.
The 6:30 p.m. meeting on September 21 will be held remotely by videoconference and
broadcast on the City website. Details on accessing the Zoom session and providing public comment may be found on the
meeting agenda. All are welcome to attend and share feedback.
Questions and comments may also be directed to the members of the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee at pbac@sausalito.gov or to Public Works Director Kevin McGowan at kmcgowan@sausalito.gov.
