    Coyotes have become an increasingly familiar presence in Sausalito. Western coyotes typically weigh 18 to 30 pounds and look similar to a small shepherd or collie-type dog, but have longer, denser fur and pointed, erect ears.

    City Manager Adam Politzer will be retiring at the end of December 2020 after 13 years as the City's chief administrator. His retirement caps a 33-year career in local government, including 20 years with the City of Sausalito.

    On Monday, September 21, the City's Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee will discuss a proposal to install a two-way bike path on the north side of Nevada Street, creating a safe zone for children and adults to bike to and from Bridgeway and the campus of Willow Creek Academy.

    At approximately 8:56 p.m. on Friday, September 11, the Sausalito Police Department received an alert from its license plate recognition cameras of a stolen 2006 Chevrolet Silverado entering Sausalito from Alexander Avenue. The Chevrolet had been reported stolen out of San Francisco on September 10.

  • Catalytic Converter Thefts on the Rise

    Catalytic converter thefts have been on a rise throughout California, and during the last two months we have had six cases in Sausalito alone. Thieves have been primarily targeting the Toyota Prius. However, other types of vehicles can also be victimized.
