From December 1, 2020, through January 1, 2021, residents and visitors will be able to park for free for up to three hours at Sausalito's on-street parking meters in the downtown area. This long-standing annual program encourages holiday shopping with our local merchants.

At approximately 8:56 p.m. on Friday, September 11, the Sausalito Police Department received an alert from its license plate recognition cameras of a stolen 2006 Chevrolet Silverado entering Sausalito from Alexander Avenue. The Chevrolet had been reported stolen out of San Francisco on September 10.

At approximately 11:39 p.m. on Monday, August 17, the Sausalito Police Department received an alert from its license plate recognition cameras of a stolen vehicle entering Sausalito from Spencer Avenue. The vehicle, a 2019 Toyota Camry, had been stolen from Daly City earlier that day.

Catalytic converter thefts have been on a rise throughout California, and during the last two months we have had six cases in Sausalito alone. Thieves have been primarily targeting the Toyota Prius. However, other types of vehicles can also be victimized.
