Council Says Any Park Plans at Ferry Landing Will Go Before Voters
At its meeting on July 27, the City Council decided that it would submit any plans for a new park adjacent to the Sausalito Ferry Landing to a vote of the people in accordance with Ordinance 1128, a section of the municipal code that restricts changes to the uses of municipal parking lots 1-4.

Participate in the Chili Cook-off at Dunphy Park
Everyone is invited to form a team and participate as a chef. There is no cost to enter the cook-off, but teams will need to make at least 15 gallons of chili, and cooking must be done on-site. Chefs compete in three contest categories: Judges' Choice, People's Choice, and Best Booth.

Removal of Debris from North Street Steps Slated for Late July
Loose material from the slope above the steps will also be removed as part of the project. The work is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete and will be followed by a separate project to replace the handrail and guardrail that were damaged by the March 2019 mudflow.

Tent Encampment Relocated to Marinship Park
The tent encampment at Dunphy Park has been relocated approximately one mile north to Marinship Park, and the public and private land that had been the site of the encampment has been cleared.

Removal of Dunphy Park Soil Stockpile Now Underway
Work to remove the soil stockpile from City land adjacent to Dunphy Park began on Thursday, July 1. Per the City's contract with Eleven Engineering, Inc. of Petaluma, the removal will be completed within 75 days, barring unforeseen circumstances.
