Settlement Closes Marinship Park Encampment
Following a settlement agreement with the Sausalito Homeless Union, the Marinship Park encampment was officially closed on the morning of Tuesday, August 16. As of that time, all people who were encampment residents earlier in the month had relocated to temporary indoor housing.

Participate as a Chef in the Chili Cook-Off on September 24
Registration is now open to participate as a chef on September 24. There is no cost to enter the cook-off, but teams will need to make at least 15 gallons of chili, and cooking must be done on-site.

Council Adopts FY 2022-23 Budget, Approves Sales Tax Measure
At its regular meeting on June 28, the City Council approved a City budget for fiscal year 2022-23, adopted a resolution to place a sales tax measure on the November 2022 ballot, and requested a study of the cannabis initiatives that have gathered enough signatures for the November election.

Grand Marshals Named for 4th of July Parade
Ray Gergus and Chris Gallagher have been named the grand marshals of Sausalito's annual 4th of July Parade. Ray and Chris will be riding in classic convertibles at the head of this year's parade, which will begin at the corner of Second and Main streets at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 4.

Pickleball, Line Dancing Highlight New Classes from Parks and Rec
Summer programs and classes from Sausalito Parks and Recreation are a great way to get exercise and make new friends. This summer, we have four new offerings for adults in addition to returning favorites like fencing, Tai Chi for arthritis, and Taiko drumming.

Festival for Juneteenth at Rocky Graham Park on Sunday, June 19
Everyone is invited to celebrate Juneteenth at the 6th Annual Juneteenth Festival in Marin City's Rocky Graham Park from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19. Admission is free, but donations to offset costs are welcome.
